I tend to jump around a bit in my 'story telling'. In this case it would help if I could have started my blog months ago. As with all things in life....here we are!
The typical day in the life of a person living with RA and Fibro is trying, tough, at best. As with anything in life there are days that are better then other. Those are the days you savor! Life in general take a huge turn - in too many ways to mention and in ways that affect the entire family. My husband reminds me at time that, while no he and the kids don't have RA, their everyday is affected by it too.
Gavin and Faith will be, and already are, more compassionate, accepting and kind for having a mom with RA and Fibro. Parts of the why make me happy, while other parts are still very difficult to digest.
For instance, Gavin just came upstairs (I am icing and elevating my knee....it's still my every moment at this point in the game. I ask 'are you ready for lunch?' His reply, 'Yes, not sure what I'd like.' (Pause) I ask, 'Are you able to get your lunch today, or do you need me to help you?' His reply, ' I can probably get it, but I'd really like it if you could today.'
I still can't do much for myself, let alone others. The kids have been so good about doing things for themselves and my parents are absolute saints for helping - actually they're caring for me and the kids, which is probably like having 5 kids all of a sudden.
Anyway, the lunch conversation is an example of how my kids can do their own stuff, have for years now, but of course...it's nice to have mom able to help.
